Weddtap vs Hitched: two different jobs, often used together

Weddtap

The short answer

Hitched is a UK wedding planning site whose core is a directory of venues and suppliers, with free planning tools and a free wedding website with RSVPs. Weddtap doesn’t help you find suppliers: it puts on one page what your guests need to know, in three languages, and keeps them informed on the day itself. The two complement each other: you book your suppliers on one, and keep your guests informed with the other.

About Hitched

Hitched is a UK wedding planning site, launched in 1997 and owned since February 2020 by The Knot Worldwide, the group behind The Knot and Mariages.net. It combines a venue and supplier directory, advice articles, planning tools and a free wedding website builder.

For couples, the tools and the website are free; the directory is funded by the venues and suppliers who subscribe to appear in it.

What Hitched does well

  • A large directory of UK venues and suppliers, built up since 1997: this is what it does best.
  • Free planning tools in one account, also as an app: budget planner, checklist, guest list and a drag-and-drop table planner.
  • A free wedding website whose RSVPs feed straight into the guest list.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Weddtap replace Hitched?
No, and it isn’t trying to: Weddtap is not a directory. Many couples find their venue and suppliers on a directory, then put the order of the day and guest information together on Weddtap.
Are there ads or featured suppliers on my Weddtap page?
No. No ads and no sponsored suppliers: your page contains only what you put on it.
Are Hitched and Mariages.net the same company?
Both belong to The Knot Worldwide, which bought Hitched in 2020. Hitched is the group’s UK site; Mariages.net is its French one.
