Getting started with Weddtap
- What is Weddtap, and how does it work?Weddtap is a single web page for your wedding: your guests find the practical info, reply to the invitation and, on the day, their table and the running order. Nothing for them to install.
- Is Weddtap really free? What do I pay for?Yes: the Free plan publishes a real page, with unlimited guests. The paid plans (The Invitation £35, The Big Day £59) lift the limits; you pay once, with no subscription.
- Do I need to create an account to get started? No: you can fill in your page, and use the site’s free tools, without an account. You need one to publish, to pay, and to find your page again on another device.
- How do I pick up my page where I left off?Everything saves on its own, at every change. Reopen the editor: with an account, sign in; without one, use the same browser.
- Where can I see an example page before I start? The site shows a demo page (Alice & James) and all ten themes for real. You can also try the free tools, with no sign-up.
- How do I find my way around the editor (menu, preview, phone)? The menu sorts everything under three headings: My guide (what your guests see), My guests, My planning, then Weddy and the tools, with Help and Settings at the bottom. The preview of your guide is on the right; on a phone, there’s a bar at the bottom.
Building your page
- How do I change our names, the date or the time of the wedding? It’s all set in My guide › Cover: names, date, ceremony time and time zone. The published page updates by itself, and its address doesn’t move.
- How do I add the venue address, directions and other venues? In My guide › The venue, enter the address exactly as Google Maps finds it: your guests get a directions button (Google Maps, Plans for Apple Maps, Waze). Free keeps one address, The Invitation as many as you like.
- How do I write the running order for the day?In My guide › Timings, add one moment per line with its time. They sort themselves, and on the day the page puts “Right now” and “Next” forward.
- How do I change the colours, style, font or seasonal edition of my page?In My guide › Style: ten themes, five styles, six typefaces, and the seasonal Halloween and Christmas editions. Choices with a padlock can be tried out without saving anything.
- How do I put our photo on the cover? In My guide › Style, drop your photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP) and choose the crop. It comes with The Invitation and The Big Day; your names stay readable over it.
- How do I add the dress code, parking and common questions? The Info page of your guide answers the night-before questions in advance: what to wear, a gift list or fund, and your common questions. It’s optional for publishing.
- How do I say where to stay and how to get there? My guide › Nearby has two parts: Where to stay and Getting there. Your guests read them in the Nearby tab of the page.
- How do I add my wedding gift list or gift fund?In My guide › Info, add the link to your list or fund: the page points to it. Weddtap never touches the money and takes no commission.
- Can my wedding page be in another language, such as French or Spanish? The editor exists in French, English and Spanish, and the guest page is written in the language you first publish it in. One page = one language: there is no language switcher for your guests.
Publishing and sharing
- How do I publish my page? What’s missing before I can?Click Publish at the top of the screen, check the address and who can open the page, then confirm. You need an account, both your names, the date, an address and two moments on the timeline.
- What’s the address (link) of my page, and can I change it?Your page lives at weddtap.com/your-address. You choose it before the first publication; once the page is online it never changes, so that printed QR codes keep working.
- Can I edit my page after publishing it?Yes, as often as you like: every change is saved and goes live straight away, with no new publication. The link never changes.
- How do I send the page link to my guests?Once the page is published, click Share: WhatsApp, text, copy the link or other apps. The message is already written.
- How do I get the QR code for my invitation?Once the page is published, the QR code downloads for free from My guide › Share, as an image or as an SVG for the printer. The full poster (PDF, PNG) comes with the paid plans.
- How do I protect my page with an access code? With The Big Day, you can ask for a code when the page opens. Your guests find it on your invitation; capital letters, accents and spaces don’t matter.
- How long does my page stay online, and can I take it down?Your page stays online until the wedding, then for twelve months afterwards, whatever the plan. After that, the page and its data (guests, replies, guest book) are deleted automatically and for good.
- Can I use my own domain name (alice-and-james.com)?Not for now. Your page lives at weddtap.com/your-name, and you choose that name. The alternatives are below.
Guests and replies
- How do I add my guest list?In List and replies, add one line per household (a family, a couple, a single person). The first names feed the seating plan and the counters. The list is optional for publishing.
- How do I import my guest list from Excel or my notes? In List and replies, click Import a list and paste it from Excel, Google Sheets or your notes: one line per household. You check it before importing.
- How do I ask my guests to reply (RSVP) and set a deadline? In My guide › Cover › Reply form, choose Yes to “Do you want your guests to reply from the page?”: a reply button appears, with no account needed for your guests. The deadline doesn’t stop anyone replying.
- How do I ask about dietary needs, allergies, children and the menu?In My guide › Cover › Reply form, one switch per question: children (with their age), dietary needs as tick boxes, a menu to pick from, shuttle, accommodation. Only turn on what you need.
- Can my guests bring a plus-one?Weddtap has no “plus-one” setting: each household replies for itself and gives its number of adults and children. If you want to set limits, say so on the page.
- How do I see who has replied, and correct or enter a reply myself?List and replies shows the numbers (invited, yes, no, no reply) and filters. Tap a household to edit its reply, for example if they answered you by phone.
- How do I remind guests who haven’t replied?Click “Remind N households” in List and replies: a ready-made message per household, to send yourself by WhatsApp or text (or to copy). Weddtap never writes to your guests.
- How do I give the caterer the numbers (covers, dietary needs, shuttle)?List and replies › For the caterer counts the adults, kids’ meals, dietary needs and dishes, in total and table by table. Copy the summary; the Excel download and the CSV export come with the paid plans.
Seating plan and the big day
- How do I create my seating plan?In Seating plan (The Big Day plan), create your tables then seat your households. Pick Simple mode (a list) or Drawing mode (you drag the tables as in the real room).
- How and when do my guests find their table? They type their first name in the Table tab: their table appears, with their neighbours and the drawing of the room. By default only on the day itself, from 5am to 5am the next morning.
- What happens on the big day, for me and for my guests? On the wedding day (from 5am to 5am the next morning), the page switches to wedding-day mode by itself: “Right now” and “Next” follow your running order, and depending on your plan the table, announcements and guest book appear.
- How do I send an announcement to all my guests on the big day, or schedule one?In My guide › Announcements (The Big Day plan), write a sentence: it appears at the top of all your guests’ pages within a minute. Give it a time and it will show up by itself.
- How do I switch on the guest book and read the notes before they appear? In My guide › Guest book (The Big Day plan), open the guest book: your guests leave a first name and a note on the day. You can read everything before it’s published, then show, hide or delete each note.
- What happens after the wedding? (guest book, thank-yous, data)Your page stays online for twelve months, guest book included. Before the deadline, keep the guest book as a PDF and download your data; after that everything is deleted automatically.
What your guests see
- How do my guests open my page? Do they need an app? They open a simple link (or scan the QR code) from their phone, tablet or computer. No app, no account, no password, unless you’ve set an access code.
- What do my guests see on my page, and what don’t they see?A page in tabs: Home, Venue, Nearby, Timings, Info, plus Table and Notes depending on your plan. They never see your budget, your guest list, your suppliers or other people’s replies.
- How does a guest reply to the invitation? (to pass on to Granny)They open the link, tap “Reply to the invitation”, choose “We’ll be there” or “We can’t make it”, give adults and children, then send. One reply per household.
- Does my page work without a signal on the big day?In part: a page that has been opened once is kept on the phone and reopens without a signal, with the table search. Announcements and the guest book need a network.
- Can my guests share their photos on the page? No: the page hosts no guest photos. The guest book is text (a first name and a note), and the only photo on the page is your cover photo.
- Does Weddtap send messages to my guests? No, never. Weddtap sends no email or text to your guests: you send the link and your reminders yourself, with your own tools (WhatsApp, texts).
Planning together, and with a planner
- How do I invite my partner to prepare the page with me?On the editor’s Home, the “Prepare it together” card creates an invitation link valid for 30 days: your other half creates their own account and arrives on the same page. Each of you sees what the other changes.
- How do I track my wedding budget and deposits?Budget is a screen for the two of you only: a ceiling, lines (planned, paid) and what’s left to pay. Your guests never see it.
- How does the countdown plan (the to-do list) work?Eighteen milestones set from your date, from “Agree a budget range, together” to “Have the drinks delivered, drop off the styling”. If the wedding moves, every date follows.
- How do I send a run sheet to my suppliers (caterer, DJ, photographer)? In Suppliers, add each supplier with their arrival time and instructions, then copy their link: it’s their run sheet, with no account to create.
- I have a wedding planner: how do we work on the same page?Your planner prepares the page in their Weddtap Pro workspace and gives it to you with a PRO-… code: you find it in your editor, with a simple view. You pay nothing.
- My wedding planner sent me a PRO-… code: how do I use it?Open the link you received, or type the six characters after PRO- on the code page: you find the page your planner prepared, as a gift, with every feature.
Plans, payment and gifts
- What’s the difference between Free, The Invitation and The Big Day? How much does it cost?Free publishes a real page (unlimited guests) with 3 moments, 1 address, 1 theme. The Invitation (£35) lifts those limits and adds a photo, a poster and the caterer export. The Big Day (£59) adds the big day itself: announcements, seating plan, guest book, access code.
- How do I pay for my plan? Which payment methods, and where is my receipt? One payment by bank card on Stripe’s secure page, from Settings › My plan or an Unlock button. The receipt is emailed. No payment outside Stripe.
- Can I get a refund if the plan doesn’t suit me?Yes: “Not happy? Write to us and we’ll refund you.” It’s a commitment in the terms of sale (article 4), beyond what the law requires. You also have 14 days to withdraw.
- How do I move up to a bigger plan (or change plan)? In Settings › My plan, pick another plan or move up to The Big Day: you only pay the difference. Going back to a smaller plan isn’t self-service.
- Is there a subscription to cancel? No, not for couples: you pay once, nothing renews, nothing is charged afterwards. Only Weddtap Pro, for wedding professionals, is a subscription.
- How do I give a wedding page as a gift to a couple? On the Give page, choose The Invitation or The Big Day, write a note and pay: the couple receives a CADEAU-… code, valid for 24 months, which unlocks their page.
- I’ve received a gift code (or a promo code): how do I use it?A CADEAU-… code is entered on the code page or in My plan: the plan is added to your page, whether it already exists or not. A promo code is entered on Stripe’s payment page.
My account and my data
- Where do I find “My account” and what can I set there?Click the avatar at the top right of the editor: My account, Help centre, Write to the team, Sign out. My account brings together your email, password, language, the emails you receive, your data and deletion.
- How do I create my account (email or Google)? An email and a password of at least 8 characters are enough, with no bank card. You receive a confirmation email: click its button or enter the 6-digit code it contains.
- I’ve forgotten my password, or I want to change itOn the Sign in page, click “Forgot your password?”: a link arrives by email (valid for an hour, one use). To change it while signed in: My account › Password.
- How do I change my account’s email address? In My account, click Change address and enter the new one: a confirmation link goes to it. The address changes once confirmed; your page and your guests aren’t affected.
- How do I download all my data?In My account › Your data, click Download my data: a single file holds your account, your page, the guest list, the replies and the guest book.
- How do I delete my account and my page?In My account › Danger zone, click Delete my account, type DELETE and confirm. Your page, your guests, their replies and your guest book go for good.
- Is my data, and my guests’ data, safe? Who has access?Passwords are protected, the bank card never passes through Weddtap and the data is hosted in Paris. You (and your other half) can access the full data; your guests only see the published page.
- Which emails does Weddtap send me, and how do I stop some of them?Account confirmation, password, payment receipt, the Monday recap and a few tips after you create your page. The recap and the tips can be switched off in My account; nothing goes to your guests.
Troubleshooting and contact
- My page won’t load, or says “not found”First check that it’s published (and not “Draft”), that the address is exact and that no access code is being asked for. Then look at the connection of the person opening it.
- I’m not getting the confirmation email, or a link is invalid or expiredLook in your junk folder, check the address, then click “Resend the email” after a minute. An expired link can be requested again in a few seconds.
- My changes aren’t saving, or the preview isn’t updatingLook at the indicator at the top of the screen: Saving…, Saved or Not saved. “Not saved” means the connection failed; the editor tries again by itself.
- I’ve paid but my plan isn’t switched onActivation usually takes a few seconds after payment, sometimes a few minutes. Stay on the page, then check My plan. If nothing changes, write to us with the receipt.
- I can’t sign in, or I’ve lost access to my pageCheck the address and password, use “Forgot your password?”, confirm your email if it isn’t yet, and think of your other addresses. Without an account, the page is only found again from the same browser.
- A guest can’t reply, or their reply doesn’t show upCheck that replies are switched on, that the page is published and that the guest has the right link (and the code, if there is one). As a last resort, enter their reply yourself.
- I deleted something by mistake: how do I get it back? When a line disappears (household, table, moment, expense…), a “Deleted” message offers Undo for a few seconds. After that, you have to enter it again.
- How do I contact the Weddtap team, how fast do they reply, and what can they do?Through “Write to the team” (in the avatar menu, at the bottom of the editor’s menu or in Help) or at hello@weddtap.com. A human replies, usually within one to two working days.
