Every day, every step

With you from day one to a month after the party

Every stage of a wedding has its questions. Weddy answers them with your page in front of him.

  1. The start

The date, the venue, the budget

Which venue, which paperwork to gather, what budget for how many guests. He sets out the basics with you.

  2. The paperwork

    Giving notice, witnesses, documents

The documents to bring, the deadlines, the days off to book. He gives you the rule and its source, and tells you who to call.

  3. The guests

    Replies, reminders, seating

Who hasn’t replied, the dietary needs to pass on, a gentle reminder for your godfather. He reads your list.

  4. The last month

The schedule, the suppliers, the nerves

What’s running late in your planning timeline, a note to the caterer, and someone to talk to at 11 pm.

  5. After the party

    Thank-yous, your name, the certificates

Thank-you notes, changing your name, getting copies of the certificate. He stays until a month after the wedding.

What he does

A friend who has planned it all before

All the paperwork, with its source

Witnesses, giving notice at least 29 days ahead, approved venues, time off. He cites gov.uk and tells you who to call when it matters.

Your numbers

How many bottles for your 14 adults, how far over budget you are, who hasn’t replied. He reads it on your page.

Messages, ready to go

A gentle nudge for the godfather, a note to the florist, a text for guests. He writes it, you send it.

The delicate stuff

A grandmother who objects, two traditions to blend, an ex in the family, stress that keeps you up. He answers with tact, judging no one.

What he answers

Three sample conversations

The notice

How early do we need to give notice?

In England and Wales, at least 29 days before the ceremony, at your local register office, in person, both of you. Bring ID and proof of address, and book the appointment early: slots go fast in spring.

The fizz

How many bottles for the drinks reception?

For your 14 adults: two or three glasses each at the reception, one with dessert. A bottle pours six or seven: 8 bottles, 10 if the three households who haven’t replied come 🥂

The family

My mother-in-law wants to invite fifteen cousins, we said 80 people.

Very common, and easier sorted together. Offer the cousins the drinks reception and keep dinner to the 80 you planned. If you like, I’ll draft the first lines for that chat.

Questions, in plain terms

How many, and for whom

A question you ask counts once. Off-topic or refused questions don’t count, and neither does an answer that fails.

What he doesn’t do

And that’s on purpose

  • He never books, pays or writes to anyone on your behalf.
  • He never sells you anything in the conversation: his answers are answers.
  • He doesn’t answer outside weddings, and flatly refuses hate and mockery.
  • He never keeps a conversation about distress or abuse. He gives the right number, straight away.
  • He doesn’t replace the registrar or a solicitor: when it’s binding, he tells you who to call.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about Weddy

Who is Weddy?
Your planning best man, included in The Big Day. Day to day, he reads your page (guests, budget, planning timeline) and answers your questions: the register office, paperwork, deadlines, family, bottles. He stays with you at every step, until a month after the wedding. He never books anything and never writes to your guests. He’s an artificial intelligence: for a tricky case, he tells you who to call.
Are 300 questions enough?
Do the maths: that’s almost one question a day for ten months. Off-topic or refused questions don’t count, and if an answer fails, you get the question back. If you still run out, 100 more questions cost £8 (or $10), one payment. Never a subscription.
Does he answer everything?
Anything to do with your wedding, tricky topics included: a family that doesn’t get on, two religions, stress. For the rest (homework, politics, football) he tells you kindly, and the question costs you nothing. A joke aimed at someone for who they are, he flatly refuses.
What about our conversations?
Weddy reads your page to answer you, nothing more. Your conversations go through Anthropic, the company that runs his intelligence, and are not used to train it. Delete them in one click, in Weddy, Conversations.
